Shaping the Landscape / Industry and Business
Industrial Areas

Avonmouth and Severnside are major economic drivers for the west of England and the entire south west. Industrial and distribution businesses cover a vast area in a series of commercial estates.
These areas have been identified as an Enterprise Zone by the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership and are set for further development. The main industries are:
- Transport and storage
- Wholesale
- Manufacturing
The Local Enterprise Partnership plans to expand the current industries and create thousands of new jobs by 2026.
This area is very well connected to other parts of the country as well as being the location for the Bristol Port Company and Shipping Docks, which historically was one of the main economic drivers in the area.
Further north along the River Severn, A Forgotten Landscape’s project area also contains the decommissioned Oldbury Power Station.
