Discover Things to Do
If you enjoy the outdoors or need to plan some fun for the kids over the holidays there’s plenty to choose from right on your doorstep.
From walking, cycling and riding the train to whiling away the afternoon in an historic pub, there’s bound to be something to please everyone, whatever the weather.
Tie your day in with one of the many places to visit and rediscover this forgotten landscape.
Don’t forget to look out for our interpretation points, toposcopes and benches while you’re out and about.
For even more inspiration, visit our Learning Map and Learning Materials pages. Aimed at Primary Schools, many of the activities are suitable for the whole family – why not go bug hunting in a wildflower meadow, search for hidden geocaches or visit a city farm? And best of all…no homework!
Discover our Walking Map
To help you explore A Forgotten Landscape, we created a series of 15 new walking routes across the area – 67km in total! They vary in length and accessibility so there’s something for everyone. We have also created an illustrated leaflet for each which you can download, with a full description of the route and points of interest along the way.
