Shaping the Landscape / Industry and Business
Local Businesses
Avonmouth and Severnside are home to many industries and local businesses, particularly storage and distribution centres, and energy and waste schemes.
The area is home to the vast Avonmouth shipping docks which are part of The Bristol Port Company, as well as being the home of Nisbets, the UK’s leading mail order company for catering equipment and catering supplies. Severnnet offer a full directory of local businesses for members.

Local businesses are also thriving in the rural parts of A Forgotten Landscape; village shops, pubs, farmers markets, cafes, high streets, and independent businesses feature across the Lower Severn Vale Levels.
For local businesses
A Forgotten Landscape offers lots of opportunities for local businesses to get involved. We have volunteering opportunities such as wildlife monitoring that can be used as part of team building.
We will also be hosting many events and festivals that will be an opportunity to promote local businesses, particularly local food businesses.
For farmers and landowners, we have specific programmes to improve habitats and revive traditional practices, including a grant scheme to restore the traditional practices of willow pollarding and hedgerow laying.
