AFL Trails - Access the Vale

Local walking trails

There are many footpaths and bridleways throughout the Lower Severn Vale Levels. They connect settlements, farms, features of interest. The key long-distance walking routes of the Severn Way and Jubilee Way. This network of footpaths and bridleways provides the main way for people to physically access and explore the Lower Severn Vale Levels and connect with its rich heritage.

As part of A Forgotten Landscape we’re developing 10 new walks and four easy access routes using existing rights of way. We’ll also be publicising trails developed by local groups, such as the Severn Beach and New Passage heritage trails.

We will showcase the many ways to explore the areas through a new interpretative map and booklet. It will show you where to find the many natural and cultural special features of the area and promote new and existing walking and cycle routes.

Do you have a walk or place you’d like featured? Please get in touch.
