Birds
The Severn Estuary plays host to tens of thousands of migratory water birds each year. Safe, secure roost sites are vital for them as well as for the long-term security of the area as an international nature conservation site.
AFL’s ‘Coming Home to Roost’ project worked with volunteers to identify and monitor high tide roost sites along the estuary, as well as raising awareness among the local community of the importance of not disturbing them.
