Discover People

The people who live along the Severn River, from Avonmouth in Bristol to Shepperdine in South Gloucestershire, make the place.

The area takes its character from fishermen, farmers, business people, artists, musicians and visitors over centuries.

It has its share of famous names too – from historical figures like William of Orange, who landed near the Lamplighters Inn after the Battle of the Boyne; to artists like Bob Dylan, who was photographed for his 1966 No Direction Home soundtrack album cover at Aust Ferry.
