Remembering the Severn’s salmon

Have you seen our latest video? Using a mix of archive photos and oral history, traditional salmon fishing on the River Severn is brought to life. Created from the oral history interview with Christabelle Tymko and using her family’s photographs, Christabelle describes the putcher fishing season in vivid detail. Once an important part of the local economy, salmon fishing is now all but vanished along the Severn. Christabelle was recorded by Jacquie Rinaldi. The video was produced by Julia Letts. We are grateful to all three for creating this wonderful document. You can watch the video here.
