  • Rhine and ditch clearance in South Gloucestershire
Rhine and ditch clearance in South Gloucestershire

To help improve habitats for the threatened water vole and other aquatic life, this project will use volunteers to clear scrub vegetation from ditches (known locally as rhines), mainly in the Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston areas.

This is part of the wider Water Vole Habitat Restoration project helping to protect this fast-disappearing creature by improving local habitat.

Become a Volunteer
Volunteers will get the chance to improve their physical and mental well-being by working directly in nature, working with others and doing something positive for the local environment. You will also get to learn more of the heritage of the area.
